Men's Weaphouse- "The Rodeo Clown"
Recorded during an ice storm on 12/18/2008 to 4-track.
The members of Men’s Weaphouse converged one evening in December 2008 in South Peoria to terrorize some eardrums. Needless to say, they loved the way they looked (it had been guaranteed), these lachrymose chaps had to do something about it. In this incarnation, Men’s Weaphouse consists of Chris Wheeler on bass and drums, Nate Lucas on keys, and Jeff Hyde on guitar and samples. The entire jam was precipitated by the recent purchase of the only new four-track recorder found on the web and a convergent scheduling mishap. It was a bad night to meet anywhere, there was a half-inch of ice covering fuck-all. This jam is improvised, but not live: the Weaphouse creates a ritual that is not a part of everyday life. All performances are culled from the moment, their inception born of an abiding love for all things dark and syrupy. The most remarkable thing about that evening is that no one died in transit.

Kong takes Rugg City 1996

In the summer of 1996 Brody started focusing on drums with his sister Dallas on bass. They hooked up with Mike Rugg and formed Rugg City. Although Mike wrote most of the songs and did most of the singin, they all had a voice. This made things alot of fun musicaly while near explosive mentally/physically, due to lack of patience and communication skills, but that was all part of the charm. ...Right? Charm was needed cuz Brody was a crappy drummer. They made a bunch of demos that were in a bunch of different keys. They played a lot of shows and Brody got better. They changed their name to The Sin Sonnets and back. Mike brought alot of cool bands to Peoria that they played with. It was a blast!

The first Whirlybird demo was done in 1997 by Mike and Jesse of Pootinany. It was only a few songs so I would guess that they started in 97. Chade Tron on drums, Bleau Human on Bass, Black Olive Vocals/Guitar. Whirlybird played alot, the most common venues were Tiamat Records in Peoria and the East Peoira Legion Hall. Jeff Kimler also played Guitar in the beginning. You can hear him in The Chokes. Bleau Human went on to Biorhythm. Black Olive, changed his name to Brody Maag for evil eye hOneytree.
