My Radio Volume 41

.
Instead of a listing of my top 2015 releases like all those other
music nerds, I made a comp of my 2015 musical fixations. This
mix consists of new releases, new discoveries and a few
things that carried over from last year.

My Daughter made a Mix

I prompted my daughter to make a mix for a local mix exchange party. Throughout the year she has been telling me about some cool bands that she has been finding and I thought that she should share. I'd like to say that her mother and I are responsible for her good taste, but maybe just by my bitching about the mainstream of twaddle radio, she has been influenced to find her own things. -Proud Parent

My Radio Volume 40

I made this for my wives 40th birthday party. We met
in the 90's at all ages shows and I regularly stalked her
at the restaurant she worked at. I eventually won her
heart. This mix consists of two discs featuring
selections from the current soundtrack of our lives
together. Bands we saw, moments we had.
 I can't tell, it's a secret.

My Radio Volume 39

Variety, dudes.

This month's DJ: Brody "I Don't Really Want A DJ Name" Maag

Upon booking DJ IDRWADJN, a robotic winged creature was summoned from the campus apiary, outfitted with a GoPro and sent forth bearing a request for a playlist summary. The creature was not heard from again until a company team-building outing to Chuck E Cheese, where it was found wearing a yellow wig, cheerleading uniform and GoPro and erratically wielding a tambourine. Footage from the long-dead camera included a video of DJ IDRWADJN standing on his well manicured lawn and holding a series of posterboard cards that read as follows:

"I will be playing the dark wave, power pop, punk, rock, underground, alt noize from my lifetime. ...Injecting some classic rockin', blues-y, soul oldies that are embedded in music history. Not many love songs will be played, more tunes speaking of life, awareness, opinion, injustice, heartbreak, and sarcasm. Sometimes these same topics are represented in a love song but don't be confused. This will be an uprising, an enlightenment over a drink or a slice of pizza, an inspiration spoken through a voice that is the music. Tomorrow may be a better day but this evening will be soundtracked to reach bestestness. Join me."

He was wearing a plaid short sleeve snap button shirt and cut off shorts that came to rest just above the knee. Lookin good.
